The Dream Journey so far…..
2021 Moving into this year, We have started pushing forward again with the development of new Intercoolers and oil cooler kits for the FK8 along with getting our workshop fully back up to speed
2020 Covid-19! - Like all businesses we had to hold back in what we were doing with our development and workshop activity. However we were able to source the all electric Honda -e as a development car and have started to produce products for this vehicle
2019 Our first competitive season with our own development car saw us crowned UK Time Attack 2WD Champions. A considerable amount was learnt throughout the race season with the development and proving of our own branded race spec products, which became available as stock items for upgrades.
2018 Saw us move to new premises. Dream’s new home, based in north Luton provided us with larger premises allowing an increase in our warehouse stock holdings along with a purpose designed workshop benefiting from state of the art alignment ramps, 4wd dyno dynamics and x2 fitting bays. In our new space we were also primed with being able to develop our own vehicle set up for the following seasons UK Time Attack Series.
2017 Welcomed the arrival of our 2nd development vehicle, now in the form of a polished metal FK8 Civic Type R. With the in depth knowledge gained from the FK2 platform, we were able to develop products that were interchangable or easily upgraded for compatibility with the FK8.
2016 Saw Dream support the Honda VTEC Challenge Race series as Official Safety Car for the Race Season. This allowed us to gain valuable data early on from the K20C1 Engine in the FK2 platform allowing us to fine tune our products during this time.
2015 Welcomed the arrival of our first brand new development car in the form of a Championship White FK2 Civic Type R. This car was the foundation of what the business would become built upon. Working together with existing and upcoming brands Dream built a reputation becoming instrumental to the R&D and release of various FK2 aftermarket products. Working with the likes of Eibach, Eventuri and Syvecs this was already setting Dream up to achieve great things in the industry.
The success of the development car led Dream to raise the bar even further which saw more of our own branded Dream Products being developed and brought to market.
With more and more products becoming available there became a need market and retail. This saw the start of www.dream-automotive.com as our online store shop front.
2014 Saw Phil start Dream Automotive. Whilst initially operating mobile, Dream's first premises came within 2 months of starting up the business. Initially based within a the grounds of a school for boys with learning difficulties and behavioural issues, this gave Dream the great opportunity to give back to the school in the form of providing NVQ level 1 motor studies training and qualifications
2013 With workshop control over various sites, Phil identified the need in the market to build a new model Honda Performance division or company. The original idea was to deliver tuning Products to for the forthcoming coming FK2 platform along with the brand new K20C1 turbo charged power unit.
2002 Dream Automotive owner Phil Crafford started work within the Honda UK Main Dealer Network. Over the next 13 years Phil grew within the industry from a Honda apprentice to become Workshop Foreman across multiple sites.
