FK2 Type R Rear Axle Overhaul

As the FK2 Type R approaches it's 10th birthday, it's time to start thinking ahead in order to best protect and preserve your cars body and chassis components that are likely now beginning to show signs of wear. To combat this ageing, we're pleased to announce that we now offer a complete overhaul service for the rear axle.

The Overhaul Process

Underbody Restoration & Protection

The first stage of the rear axle overhaul will see our technicians remove the rear axle from the vehicle entirely, giving us good access and allowing us to deep clean, fully treat and then protect the underbody where necessary. We also take time to remove the rear arch liners and surrounding trims so that we can apply a black underbody sealant to some of the areas that, although are rarely seen, are most prone to corrosion.

Rear Axle Bush Refresh

After completing our work on the underbody of the car we will tend to your cars rear axle by refreshing the bushes with up-rated polyurethane replacements from Polybush. All bushes from Polybush are made from high quality materials and provide OE ride comfort with the life time of polyurethane. All of their bushes are engineered to exact specification ensuring your suspension works exactly how Honda originally intended.

Common Areas Of Concern

Front Subframe Restoration (Optional)

If you're serious about protecting your car, we are able to offer more in-depth restoration services to be carried out at the same time.

We are able to deep clean and powder coat your vehicles subframe, before re-bushing the rear beam and front lower arms with polyurethane bushes.

In addition to simply replacing bushes, it may make sense to have other upgraded parts fitted whilst we are working in the area. Options include lower engine mounts, rigid collars, drop-links, camber adjustable ball joints and uprated anti-roll bars. Fitting these parts will further improve your vehicles handling.
